First, move x to one side of the equation by doing inverse operations
6x-5+9x=7
The combine like terms
6x+9x-5=7
15x-5=7
Then move 5 to the right side of the equation by adding 5 to both sides
15x=7+5
15x=12
Now divide by 15 on both sides to isolate x
15x/15=12/15
x=4/5
