Why is slang particularly american, according to walt whitman? do you think this is still the case in twenty- first- century america?

Whitman believes that slang is particularly an American thing because most of the people in America are mixing cultures, ideologies and languages and from that new words, slang, are created to portray new meanings. Because America is a melting pot and continues to incorporate people from around the globe, this trend will likely continue.
