The transverse plane is one of the planes of the body that describes the location of the parts in relation to each other. The transverse plane also known as axial plane or horizontal plane divides the body into 2 parts namely the superior or the head part and the inferior or the tail part.If the body would be divided in 2 sections with each containing a heart and both lungs it is called a transverse plane.
