Under a dilation, the point (−4, 3) is moved to (8, −6) . What is the scale factor of the dilation?

If the dilation is equal in all dimensions (in this case it is), to get the scale factor, just pick either the x or y coordinate and divide the final coordinate by the initial one.

Picking the x-coordinates of both points, 8 divided by -4 = -2.
