Given that Distance = 2 5/8 miles = 21/8 miles

Time = 3 and 1/2 minutes = 7/2 minutes

Then speed of the car is given by formula :
Speed=(Distance)/(time)=((21)/(8))/((7)/(2))=(21)/(8)*(2)/(7)=(42)/(56)=(3)/(4)

miles per minute

Hence distance travelled in M minutes will be given by equation

D=(3)/(4)M
