It’s A!! The Olive Branch Petition was a last ditch effort by the Second Continental a Congress to restore peace with Britain, by pleading American loyalty to the Crown. Unfortunately, it was too late, and King George III denied their request, leading to the writing of the Declaration of Independence a year later.
