Skidding is commonly caused by high speeds when driving. A skid refers to a situation where a car's tyres lose traction due to lack of friction between the tyres and the road surface. Skidding is extremely dangerous, potentially leading to injury and death. Other causes of skidding include slippery roads due to snow, over-steering and faulty tyres.
