Multiply out the bracket:
(-1/2×-3y)+(-1/2×10)
-1/2×-3= 1.5 as the negatives cancel out
-1/2×10= -5
So the answer is 1.5y-5 or 3/2y-5 if you prefer a fraction

Answer:

(3)/(2)(y)-5

Explanation:

The given expression is

-(1)/(2)(-3y+10)

We need to find the expanded form of given expression.

According to distributive property, if a,b and c are three real numbers then

a(b+c)=ab+ac

Using distributive property, the given expression can be written as

-(1)/(2)(-3y)-(1)/(2)(10)

On further simplification we get

(3)/(2)(y)-5

Two terms are called like terms if they have same variable of same power.

In the above expression we do not have like terms.

Therefore, the expanded form of given expression is
(3)/(2)(y)-5.
