The equation of direct variation is given by :-


y=kx, where k is the constant of variation.

For the first row , put x= 2 and y = 1 in the above equation , we get


1=k(2)\\\\\Rightarrow\ k=(1)/(2)=0.5

Therefore , the constant of variation : k=0.5

(2,1)...x = 2 and y = 1
sub and solve for k
1 = 2k
1/2 = k <=== constant of variation is : 1/2
