The early theorists considered what was lacking in cyberspace and argued that this lack meant that 'real', genuine, relationships could not be formed in such a space.
They saw online community as a form of medium where people could run away from the problem that arose in real life. But it is next to impossible to form an understanding and true friendship with other poeple without actually talking and knowing them personally.
