What are the coordinates of the point where the line y = -\frac{2}{5}x + 12 intersects the x -axis?

y = -2/5x + 12

where the line intercepts the x axis is the x intercept. U can find the x intercept by subbing in 0 for y and solving for x.

0 = -2/5x + 12
2/5x = 12
x = 12 / (2/5)
x = 12 * 5/2
x = 60/2
x = 30....so ur x int is 30 or (30,0) <==
