According to the United States Census Bureau of 2014 over 12 million American children live in poverty. The top 3 states with the highghest rates of child poverty are: Mississippi, New Mexico and Arkansas. Most of these children have parents who work but they earn low wages and have unstable employment conditions so this makes it hard for the families to make ends meet.
