9. The Articles of Confederation, which was then replaced by the U.S. Constitution that we still follow today. It was replaced because it was too weak and lacked many important things that should exist in a government. One example is that it didn’t have an executive branch or a national court system (judicial branch); it only had a national legislature (legislative branch).
