VOTRE is the formal way to say "ton" or "ta" ....
If the noun following is masculine ==> ton "père" (masc. noun ->un père = your father)
if the noun following is feminine ===> ta "mère" (fem. noun ->une mère = your mother)
ton + masc. sing. noun ===> informal
ta + fem. sing. noun ===> informal
votre + masc. & fem. sing. noun ==> formal
vos + masc. & fem. plural nouns ==> vos parents = your parents
