Trumpet binding, also known as tubing or tubal sterilization, is a type of permanent birth control. While connecting the trumpet, the fallopian tubes are cut, tied or blocked to prevent pregnancy permanently.

The connection of the trumpet prevents ovulation of the egg from the ovaries through the fallopian tubes and prevents the sperm from passing through the fallopian tubes to the egg. The procedure does not affect the menstrual cycle.

Trumpet binding can be performed at any time, including after the birth of the child or with other abdominal surgery, such as cesarean delivery. Most trumping procedures can not be undone. If you try to undo, this requires major surgery and is not always effective.
