The point-slope form of line:

y-y_1=m(x-x_1)\\\\m=(y_2-y_1)/(x_2-x_1)

We have the points (-5, -6) and (2, 8). Substitute:

m=(8-(-6))/(2-(-5))=(8+6)/(2+5)=(14)/(7)=2\\\\y-(-6)=2(x-(-5))\\\\\boxed{y+6=2(x+5)}
