How can you explain the increase in membership of the KKK during the 1920's

i guess it grew alot because the 1920s was a very racist time period.

They had slavery abolished at the time,and many whites were angered.

Nathan Bedford Forrest created the ku klux klan, he was a cotton farmer,a slave owner,and a slave trader.

He was also the confederate army general.

thats what i know off the top of my head
