A prepositional phrase is made up of a group of words that contains a preposition. It modifies a noun or a verb. It consists of a preposition + a clause, a verb or a noun. Most common prepositions are to, of, about, at, before, by, behind, during, for, from, in, with, and so on.

Example: She climb up the stair. (“up” is the preposition and “up the stair” is a prepositional phase that modifies the verb “climb”)

Example:The wolf with black paws (“with” is the preposition and “with black paws” is a prepositional phrase that modifies the noun “wolf”).
