Given that,

mass of ball , m =11 lbs

Time , t = 1.0 seconds

Acceleration , a = 9.8 m/s²

Distance , s = ?

Since, we know that,

S = Vi *t + 1/2 at²

Since initial velocity is zero in this case (ball was at state of rest before falling to the ground)

S = 1/2 *9.8 * (1)²

S = 4.9 m

The distance covered by ball after one second will be 4.9 m.
