Georgia on Our Mind is a great example of the best of the new Southern writing. I can think of no other book that captures the characters and scenes of Southern life with such energy and humor. To top it all off, Devin McLeod has a fabulous ear, as shown by his pitch-perfect dialogue. His characters sound completely authentic. What reader could ever forget the character of Mister Roberts?
