heterogeneous mixtures are those that are mixed, but not evenly. so you can see the different parts. compound is something made up of 2 or more elements. so, K will be a compound, as they are giving you the chemical formula, and showing there are 2 elements. and L is the heterogeneous mixture, as, even though it is crushed, the rocks can be picked apart.
