0=-16t^2 - 10t+6

factor out a -2

0= -2(8t^2 +5t -3)

divide by -2

0 = (8t^2 +5t -3)

factor

0=(8t-3) (t+1)

using the zero product property

8t-3 = 0 t+1 =0

8t = 3 t= -1

t = 3/8 t= -1

t cannot be negative ( no negative time)

t = 3/8 seconds
