Sapa Inca was the emperor of the Inca. The Inca was a pre-Columbian civilization of South America. In "Quecha", the Inca language, Sapa Inca means Only Inca or Great Inca. The tradition is that Manco Capac was the first Sapa Inca, son of sun god; he becames the powerful Sapa Inca by founding Cuzco on a godly quest to find a location for a city. He founded Cuzco and united the tribes around.
