Why did the U.S. finally grant Native Americans citizenship in 1924?

Most Native Americans in the United States were either a part of Nationstates within the States or weren’t formally recognized as citizens but in 1924 under government provided reservations. Native Americans born in the United States could now vote.

On June 2, 1924, Congress enacted the Indian Citizenship Act, which granted citizenship to all Native Americans born in the U.S.
