How might a flood affect the population of an area?

They could affect the population by bringing on sickness and diseases that have the potential to be fatal.

Floods could bring economic losses which may push people to move away or find jobs elsewhere.

If bad enough, floods could cause fatalities just by their sheer force.

It would decrease the population because it would force them out and the devastation would cause food shortages
