The insolation refers to the incoming solar radiation that affects the earth's global temperature. The more is the radiation, the more is the surface temperature of earth. These radiations can be reflected back into space with the help of clouds, snow, ice, and glaciers. This property of reflecting the radiations is known as the albedo.

A huge amount of cloud can help in the reduction of these incoming radiations and maintains a comparatively cooler temperature. In addition to this, the glaciers and ice-covered areas at the higher latitude regions also play an important role in reducing these solar radiations.
