To write 25% as a fraction in lowest terms, remember that a percent is a ratio that compares a number to 100. So 25% can be written as the ratio 25 to 100 or
(25)/(100). Notice however that
(25)/(200) is not in lowest terms. To turn the fraction into lowest terms, we can divide both the numerator and the denominator by our greatest common factor which is 25.

25 ÷ 25 = 1

100 ÷ 25 = 4

Therefore, 25% can be written as the fraction
(1)/(4).

To write a percent as a decimal, first remember that a percent is a ratio that compares a number to 100. So we can think of 25% as the ratio 25 to 100 or
(25)/(100). Remember that dividing by 100 moves the decimal point 2 places to the left. So 25 ÷ 100 would move the decimal point 2 places to the left which would gives us .25 or 0.25.

Therefore, 25% can be written as the decimal 0.25.
