Nitrogen Oxides (or Oxides of Nitrogen) are a mixture of gases that are formed by the reaction of nitrogen and oxygen.

Some of these Oxides of Nitrogen to name are:

Nitric Oxide (
NO)

Nitrogen Dioxide (
NO_2)

Nitrogen Monoxide (
N_2O)

Nitrogen Pentoxide (
NO_5)

Nitrogen dioxide is mainly formed for the manufacture of nitric acid, most of which is further used in the manufacture of fertilisers, while some is used in the production of explosives for mining and military purposes.
