What was President Pierce’s response to the election fraud in Kansas?

Pierce preferred to let the politics of Kansas be settled by the locals, although he held sympathies toward the pro-slavery side. -he refused to do anything.

Pierce response : Accusation abounded that illegal voting had teken place everywhere, and accusations were made as much as fraud and violence.

The governor declares that the great majority of the memvers of the council and the chamber of representatives have been "duly elected".

As well as the certificates of others, due to the alleged illegality of votes.
