Comparing and Contrasting: Location, Social Structure, Religion, and Government. The Gupta Empire inherited the Mauryan land which was located in modern day India. The main difference between these two empires is that the Gupta Empire had a less extensive area.

Answer: The correct answer is : Both empires were an absolute monarchy. The social structures were very similar, they had a caste system where they classified civilians into 5 main classes, from greater to lesser power they were: brahmin, kshatriya, vaisya, sudra and untouchables. Both empires had weak rulers who could not sustain a large empire.
