The answer is the Boer Wars.

Boer is a term which means "farmers" in Dutch and Afrikaans. In the South African context it refers also to the descendents of the Dutch speaking settlers.

The first Boer War was fought in 1880-1881 between the British Empire and South Africaners, after the British annexation of the territory of the South African Republic in 1877.

The Second Boer War was fought between by the British against two boer states: South Africa and the Orange Free State.
