The right answer is Nubia (A). Pharaohs never lacked gold since the royal armies conquered the large deposits of the said material that existed south of Egypt, in the region of Nubia. Gold was associated with the sun, due to its brightness an its color, and since pharaohs wished to be associated with the sun, it in turn became a very valuable and coveted metal. Gold was used to decorate the tombs, but it was also given as a gift, or a donation, to priests, officers and rulers from the vassal states to gain their favor. Extracting the gold from the mines was a hard endeavor, and often pharaohs sent prisoners and criminals to do it.
