Cells typically communicate using chemical signals, where one cell sends the signal, while other receive it (target cell). Cells communicate via signals, molecules that bind to their receptor on the target cell. The activity of the receptor is than changed, causing the intracellular cascade (a chain of chemical messengers inside the cell) that triggers a response.
