Is -2.5 rational or irrational

Rational because it can be read as a decimal.
Remember: rational numbers can be read as a whole number, fraction and decimal (even if it’s terminated or repeated with the same number at the end)
Irrational numbers are infinite numbers that cannot be read and they do not repeat over and over within a pattern.
Example the square root of 5 is irrational because it is not a perfect square and it ends up coming out as infinite decimals that continue but don’t repeat in a pattern. Hope this helps :)

If a number can not be written as a fraction it is irrational
