Hurricane Charley. Hurricane Charley came ashore Aug. 13 near Port Charlotte as a Category 4 hurricane, with sustained winds of up to 150 miles per hour

Hurricane Charley is reported at the strongest hurricane in 2004. Not only was it the strongest of 2004, but it is still recorded as one of the strongest hurricanes in the United State's history. It dealt 16.9 billion dollars of damage to the country.
