Hey there!

√(4q-2) = √(3q+8)

Square each side to get rid of the radical sign.

√(4q-2)^2= √(3q+8)^2

Now we have:

4q-2= 3q+8

Add 2 on both sides.

4q= 3q+10

Subtract 3q on each side.

q=10

10 is your answer.

I hope this helps!

Given : √(4q - 2) = √(3q + 8)

Squaring on both sides we get :

⇒ 4q - 2 = 3q + 8

rearranging like terms

⇒ 4q - 3q = 8 + 2

⇒ q = 8 + 2

⇒ q = 10
