The Letters froma farmer in Pennsylvania were written by John Dickinson in 1767-1768. The purpose of the letters was to unite the colonists against the Townsend Acts passed by the English Parliment. Dickinson saw a conflict coming between the Colonies and the British but warned against it ''until the people are fully convinced''.
