Mohandas Gandhi, also known as Mahatma Gandhi or simply Gandhi, was an Indian activist who was the leader of India's independence from Britain. He developed the idea of passive resistance to impose injustice. Within this, he demonstrated that nonviolence could be an effective form of protest. Even though India was nonviolent, they won indepence from Britain. Even though Gandhi attempted to create political unity between Hindus and Muslims in India, he was unable to successfully achieve this goal (B).
