During the blackout Jada used a flashlight to complete her homework. She also ate all of the ice cream, ice pops, and sherbet, in the freezer so that they would not melt. Unfortunately, Jada felt sick after her late-night snack.

well maybe she shouldn't have eaten all of that and just let it melt and when the blackout was over, she would put them back into the freezer and let them get frozen again.
