Answer: Deep marine fans

Turbidity currents occur in the marine water due to earthquakes and other geological events. In this the water in speed flows downhill and it takes away along with it sediments, planktons and organic matter as a result of surface runoff. The water is turbid due to the presence of high density and high concentration of light blocking particles in it. The turbidity currents changes the physical structure of the seafloor. The sediments are deposited in the form of gradient or fan patterns including the largest particles at the bottom and the smallest ones at the top. Hence, turbidity currents forms deep marine fans at the seafloor.

Turbidity currents carry sediments into submarine canyons which may eventually produce DEEP SEA FANS.

Turbidity is caused by particles that are dissolved in water and it scatters light thus making the water appear cloudy. The sediments flows down due to their weight. Deep sea fans are also associated with the deposition of sediments in a large quantity.
