the discriminant b^2 - 4ac when the equation is in the form of ax^2 +bx+c=0

13x^2-16x = x^2 -x

we need to get in it the standard form

subtract x^2 from each side

12x^2 -16x = -x

add x to each side

12x^2 -15x = 0

12x^2 -15x -0 =0

a=12 b=-15 c=0

b^2 -4ac

the discriminant = b^2

b^2 = (-15)2 = 225
