The equation of line k is y=−1/5x−1/8. What is the equation of the line that is perpendicular to line k and passes through (0, 0)?

For this i will not give the answer but i will guide you one how to do it

first of all if the line is perependicular to -1/5x-1/8 that mean its the opposite and swicht signs. so since jt only effects the slope the slpoe for the other equation will be from -1/5 to 5 since we flipped the fraction and flipped the sign. next it also says that the new line k has to pass through (0,0) that would mean since (x,y) equals (0,0) we would have to plug the x and y which is the two zeros giving us and equation like this
0=5(0)+b
if we make in it slope intercept form it would have to be y=mx+b
then if you slove for b you will put it into the equation
y=5x+b
