The enzymes in your stomach have evolved to work most efficiently at the pH of your stomach, so changing the environment around them would cause them to not work nearly as effectively, if at all.

Answer: The enzyme will not function properly

Explanation:

The enzymes are the catalyst that tend to increase the rate of reaction by decreasing the activation energy.

The enzymes work at a certain temperature and certain pressure. If the pH of stomach is doubled then the enzyme will not function properly.

The enzyme might undergo denaturation as it is protenous in nature. The enzyme activity will slow down or it will stop working.
