Do you think that the demographic makeup of Congress should exactly mirror the makeup of the U.S. population in order to fully exemplify the principles of popular sovereignty and republicanism? Explain your answer

I personally believe so but that is not how our nation was created.

This probably does not help much but is my opinion.

I believe it is not necessary for the demographic makeup of Congress to exactly mirror the makeup of the U.S. population in order to fully exemplify the principles of popular sovereignty and republicanism. I believe Congress should represent all ideas and opinions, however, these are not necessarily tied to demographic characteristics. A person can have a particular opinion regardless of his age, race or socioeconomic level. While representation is important, an exact copy of society is not necessary.
