What is a major difference between DNA replication and DNA transcription?

dna replication makes copies of dna while dna transcription copies dna and rna first part of it

Answer:

Transcription of DNA and replication of DNA both can be defined as the process by which DNA is formed.

The difference is that in case of transcription the DNA is converted into RNA while in case of replication a copy of DNA is produced.

Both of the process produces nucleic acid one produces DNA and the other one produces RNA.

One is involved in the cell division and the other one is involved in the gene expression.
