The “innocent youth” archetype in Araby is represented by the narrator when describing himself gazing up in darkness; and using images of darkness and blindness, which represents alienation, when the boy realizes how foolish he has been, showing the boy's lack of social experience, especially when it comes to approaching his crush; and this drives to his emotional growth.
