Mrs. Cook wants to give each of her 24 students the same amount of candy. If each package of candy has 36 pieces in it, how many packages of candy should she buy so that there will be none left over?

Mrs. Cook should buy 2 packages of candy.

This is as:

LCM = 72

2 packages of candy = 36 × 2 = 72 pieces

72 ÷ 24 = 3

Therefore, as 72 divided by 24 results in a whole number without any left over, the answer must be 2 packages.
