Why is banquo important in Macbeth?

Macbeth sees Banquo's ghost which shows how things have transitioned from order to chaos.
One of the murderers comes in; shows how Macbeth allows disorder into the kingdom.
Shakespeare uses Banquo's ghost as a microcosm of the chaotic nature of Macbeth's reign, because the way they sit changes after his ghost is seen
