(3)/(4)x - 1

As -5 ≠ -2 ⇒ f(-5) =
(3)/(4)(-5) - 1 = ((-15)/(4) - 1) = (-19)/(4)

Given : if x = -2 then f(x) = -1

As x = -2 ⇒ f(-2) = -1

Given : If x ≠ -2 then f(x) =
(3)/(4)x - 1

As 2 ≠ -2 ⇒ f(2) =
(3)/(4)(2) - 1 = ((3)/(2) - 1) = (1)/(2)
