To solve we have to use the formula:

m= Y2-Y1/X2-X1

X1= -5

Y1= -8

X2= -2

Y2= 1

Use the values into the formula for the slope.

b= -8 =(3) x (-5) = 7

Then the equation of the line can be written in the form of y=mx+b

y=3x+7

Answer:

The slope is m=3
